Our Beagle Champions

We began breeding 'Diamond in 2004, just after she turned 2 years old.  It was however, an "unplanned" breeding.  Diamond had gone into season and we had separated her and Molson for a couple of weeks (thanks to our friends Irene and Isabel who took Molson into their kennel).  We brought him home thinking all was ok with Diamond and her season.  To our surprise, and consternation, the next day while we were getting ready for work, Molson and Diamond decided that they would tie.  For those who are not familiar with breeding, a tie occurs when the male and the female are both receptive and open and a tie usually signifies the start of a successful breeding.  Rick should write a book on breeding dogs and a whole absolutely hilarious chapter could be devoted to this first unplanned breeding experience.  Everyone who hears the story especially people familiar with dogs and breeding, laughs so hard they have tears in their eyes.  Move over Marley and Me!!!  Diamond had 3 terrific puppies from Molson, Conan, Ivey and Molly, all of whom went to homes in Regina.  These puppies were not registered as the litter occurred before we could remove Diamond's breeding conditions.

We bred Diamond again in 2006 to Torquay the Wall Street, a wonderful 13 inch male from our friend Estelle Laponder of Laponderosa Kennels in Armstrong, B.C.  Diamond 4 puppies and we went on to get conformation championships for all 4 of them.  Astro, Aero, Angel and Jozee (her owners changed her name from Amber) were absolute joys around the house.  Check out the Photo Gallery for some of our favourite pictures of those 4.  We called them our "A" ltter.

After that litter we were able to complete the registration of our kennel name with the Canadian Kennel Club and from that point forward, all of our registered dogs have names that include the name of our kennel, LegalBeagles Kennels.

What follows is a little photo show of those of our dogs that we have been fortunate enough to achieve conformation championships for.  To date, we have had 3 of Diamond's litters that have been capable of showing and one litter of Jozee's that we were able to show.  All four of the "A" litter  were shown and are conformation champions.  Four of the "B" litter were shown.  The two shown in Canada are champions and Bradie and Belle (now Woofie) are working on their championships in the U.S.  4 of the 5 "D" litter puppies are conformation champions in Canada and the other puppy is working on it!  That is a total of 10 Canadian Conformation champions from Diamond's 3 registred litters.  Way to go Diamond!

Jozee's litter is our "C" litter.  2 of her puppies, Emmy and Oki, are Canadian conformation champions.

We are very happy to report that Audrey Inglis and John Inglis are continuing to show Ch. LegalBeagles Duchess of Parker ("Duchess") and she is doing wonderfully well with her handler, Cindy Kowalchuk of Winnipeg.  We will be posting some of Duchess' show photos in the coming while.  At this point she is ranked as the #3 beagle in Canada!  Way to go Duchess (and of course, Cindy and Audrey and John)!
